Ziploc Bags

Ziploc bags are a staple in my home. It's soo handy for food storage, marinating, brining and packaging lunches for the family. It's zip seal prevents spillage and the sturdy bags don't break easily. Nowadays, it comes in all sizes with double zip seals or sliders.

One of their newer bags is the vacuum system that allows you to vacuum seal your food by manually operating a pump. Kind of like the vacuum sealer used in sous vide.

The brand has also branched out into plastic containers in all shapes and sizes using Smart Snap or Twist n Loc covers.

And a permium Versa Glass line of glass containers that can store, heat and serve. I know lots of people whether they live alone or in large families will love this for the convenience.

If you don't own any microwave steamware than the ziploc Zip n Steam is for you. Throw in vegetables or seafood and pop it into the microwave for a few minutes. The bag can be thrown away after use.

Ziploc also makes jumbo sized bags for non food items. Store art supplies, toys and even clothes in these big bags for storage.

Omega-3 Fish Oil

A daily dose of Omega-3 Fish Oil is good for your whole body and more importantly keeps my sushi cravings in check. EPA and DHA have lots of health benefits like anti-inflammatory, supports brain function, lowers cholesterol and as an anti-depressant especially in pregnant women. All of which I have no means of proving. But, I do know as a kid I got a spoon of Cod Liver Oil daily for overall well-being and these capsules are like multi-vitamins you take everyday.

Overstock.com Haul

Overstock is another shopping site that offers cheap international delivery and discounts for bigger purchases. I was doing price comparison for the Ultimate Sweater Machine here and while Amazon has restrictions on the products it can ship internationally, you can buy just about anything on this site to be delivered to Singapore.

Starting with the Singer Kid's Knitting Machine (S$53.10). Why would there be shipping restrictions on this? I've seen it at Toy'r'us before.

Bucilla Felt Christmas Stocking kits (S$30 to S$40). I've always wanted these and now I can buy it at a discount. By the time these are assembled, it would be December and just in time for Christmas.

Sugar'n'Cream Pure Cotton Yarns in Yellow and Country Blue (S$25 to S$28). There is about 706 yards in each spool and its all machine washable.

DHL delivery in 1 week for just S$33.70 and a 5% discount off the total bill.

Freebies!

$30 FoodPanda voucher courtesy of FoodieFC who held a lucky draw for online followers. Looking forward to my next meal already.

Received more freebies this month. 5 sample pack from Kiehls who are lowering their prices as they expand into more outlets.

Gorgeous bar of perfumed soap from Vardi & Migdal. I thought it was nougat at first but its really soap. More Dead Sea products coz that salt is often used to make body scrubs, it's really soft and fine with detox properties. I always have some in my bathroom, no particular brand.

$10 Hari Raya voucher from Spotlight that I spent on their already discounted pure wools. I have a project in mind and was planning to get NORO yarns when the Spotlight voucher arrived so it worked out nicely. Original price $20 that I only paid $4 for.

Free samples from Philosophy, this brand is so sweet and simple with its famous dessert scented shower gels like birthday cake, spiced pumpkin pie etc.

Cream Honeycomb Scarf

Double Knitting takes up loads of yarn and even more so for this honeycomb pattern. Prepare 12 to 14 skeins of yarn for an oversized circle scarf.

I alternated every 3 rows to create tighter honeycombs and am happy with the end result.

Celine S/S 2013 Fashion

Celine makes clothes for the career woman that dresses more conservatively. So I was a little surprised at those deep V neck dresses.

Fuzzy slippers also made an appearance, is it because they know office girls keep bedroom slippers under their work desk? And lots of fabric being twisted, wrapped, tied into a bow. I want to get one of these tops.

Egg Tools

Starting with electric egg cookers that allow you to cook multiple eggs at once either hard-boiled or poached. Perfect for fancy people who own egg cups and have big families.

If you have an egg cooker than you must also own an egg topper that cuts off the top of the eggs perfectly. You know, so you can drizzle salt & pepper on it or beluga caviar.

Next, comes egg cooking apparatus like these silicon cups that keep poached eggs separated in the pot.

If you like your eggs in its original shape there are now Eggies, egg shape moulds you can crack your eggs into and boil. It was invented to eliminate peeling hot eggs with your fingers.

Special microwave containers to cook eggs in, breakfast in a jiffy. You can't just throw eggs into the microwave on a plate.

More egg moulds for pan frying, smaller versions of pancake moulds. Great for sandwiches as it fits perfectly into the bun.

Egg yolk separator, commonly used in baking as white cakes can't have yolk, ever heard of that.

Egg slicer, I love this one as it slices eggs perfectly and quickly.

This is a new one, an egg cracker (heehee..)

Roxy & Billabong

There are no waves in Singapore but Surf brands fit perfectly into Singapore. It's the relaxed sensibility, ease of care and stretchy comfortable clothings that also reflect this island's weather and vibe.

The great thing is surf brands usually have some items meant for water sports and some items for casual wear. It helps that the clothes are all designed with the fashionista in mind.

No Signboard Seafood Place

This place is packed on the weekends but is almost empty on week days, especially lunch time.

I love the fresh seafood dishes.

And its in the dim sum as well, I cannot express how important it is for there to be fresh seafood in dimsum.

Buffalo Gold Yarn

Newly created by the Buffalo Wool Co. is the 100% Bison Down spun with Gold wrapped Silk threads. This 90% bison down, 6% gold, 4% silk yarn is 3 ply with enough slack for knitting into a real American heirloom piece. Each skein of precious Buffalo Gold Wool weighs 50gm provides 300 yards of yarn and costs USD$250.

It is also sold at The Yarn Co. where quantities are limited. One thing I have to mention is that it is only available in its natural colour, a mocha brown shade that may not be for everyone. I think the colour is complementary to gold and the resulting project would look great.

There are several things you can do with this, The Yarn Co. shows 1 skein made into an ornament mixed with gold beads. letissierdesigns mixes it with gold plated beads to make a fringed capelet. I would suggest you knit a travelling blanket in ordinary bison down yarn and use this gold yarn to make the border.

Again from Strawberrynet, running low on toiletries and making use of the additional 10% discount on all items to Singapore. Now that they've started a daily specials, I always check in for items that I use.

Macadamia Moisturizing Rinse, the standard hair conditioner from Macadamia brand that I have heard soo much about. Now I get to try it, before believing it.

A pair of Darphin Purifying Foam Gel or facial wash. Never tried this item before, soo excited too.

4 bottles of perfume body wash as it runs out soo quickly.
