Fusion Hair Colour

Redken's Cover Fusion Low Ammonia is another salon administered, low ammonia hair dye option. It is supposed to cover grey hairs and revitalize hair structure. That it does effectively as my dyed hair is shiny and smooth even before treatment and that really doesn't happen with many brands. However, I noticed dye stains on my scalp that takes a few washes to remove completely.

This time around I picked a violet-black, it's black with hints of violet in the sun. I would say this is a hair colouring option for you if you don't do treatments after dyeing.

Squid Ink Pizza

I was back at Skinny Pizza as the last few times I was there, the squid ink pizza was not available. It sounds soo exotic, squid ink. Like sharks fin there is only one ink sac on each squid, that makes it a valuable commodity. Delicious but messy, don't eat this one if you have your best clothes on or if you are wearing white.

Etsy Knits

I took a look at Etsy to see what all the talented people came up with.

Knitted Chair and Leg Rest covers! I have never seen this one before and predict it to be a bestseller.

Knitted Chain Scarf, a re-interpretation of the circle scarf, fun & quirky.

Adorable knitted toys. My sis got me a soft toy knitting kit but I haven't started on it yet. Too much to learn for a newbie.

An ingenious interlaced knit scarf, you can't pull it apart.

Pintuck knit sweater. I can't believe they have such fancy stuff online.

If you are impressed by the pintucking knit, these 2 cushion covers will knock you off your socks. A tree of life knit and a wheat chain pattern, lovely.

A giant stuff toy or door stop in the shape of an owl. It actually looks elegant and not kiddy.

A gorgeous pot warmer in the prettiest knit and colour.

1 more ingenious mix yarn cushion.

Knitting Haul

I've been waiting for the Martha Stewart looms to come back in stock and it finally is! Along with a haul of yarns as I already know what I am going to do. Neutrals, Multi-Colour and Neon.

Anti-dustmite, machine washable cushion inserts. I am going to sew this in so you just throw the whole thing into the washing machine.

Watermark Stamping

I discovered watermark stamping as a way to create more visual interest in a page. The great thing about this stamp pad is you can use existing stamps to create a watermark on the page before all the other stuff goes on it.

So this is my message using clear stamps. I chose highly detailed stamps to see how much this actually picks up.

As you can see, all the details show through clearly. I even tried this on white paper and the mark comes out the same as below.

I used VersaMark Oil Based Ink Watermark Stamp Pad, by Tsukineko.

Floral themed Utensils

cookie bouquets from sweetandsourshowers.com

With Mother's Day round the corner, I have put together floral themed kitchen tools that would make great gifts and are more lasting than an actual bouquet. Most would look great in a country style kitchen or as Objet d'art in a modern kitchen.

Flower Pot Measuring Set in ceramic, the pot is a measuring cup and the flowers are measuring spoons.

DCI Bloom Utensil Set, a plastic vase holding 5 utensils (whisk, slotted spoon, solid spoon, spatula, slotted turner) made from heat resistant nylon, silicon and stainless steel.

Black+Blum Salad Plant. The pot can be used to store salad dressing and the salad fork & spoon for tossing.

Flower Kitchen Brush with holder. Comes in yellow, orange or pink and dishwasher safe.

Loofah

Some people use a bath pouf to foam up shower gels and a a separate sponge scrub. I find a loofah to be a happy in-between, it foams up soap as it goes along providing gentle exfoliation.

Loofahs are natural vegetable fibres grown in a fruit form out of plants. It packs flat but puffs up once exposed to water.

Benjamin's Party

At a different Kids Amaze venue. The spaces and openings are smaller than the other place, so no way adults can go in. Everyone just stands outside and screams at their kid.

No catered food, just pizzas, chicken nuggets and sushi. Stuff kids eat.

Life Insurance

Paying a company to insure yourself against illness, disability and death is a necessity. For more coverage you can add on extras and pay more as you see fit. The basics cover the major 30 illnesses including cancer and will ensure you are able to payoff hospital/medical bills as well as payout upon death to a named beneficiary. After 10 - 15 years of paying monthly premiums, your policy matures and you make back what you put in. So it's like putting money in the bank while assuring yourself of coverage, provided you don't close the account or miss a payment before it matures.

For young people there are savings or investment linked insurance plans. For the middle-aged, there are retirement insurance plans. The premise is the same, you pay a monthly premium and it offers you differing types of coverage for illness, disability and death. After a certain amount of time, you make profits or losses depending on the investment/assets it is backed on.

Just like any other type of investment product you can choose to stay or cash out or even restart on another policy. When choosing a policy, remember that projected earnings are always optimistic.

Beading Loom

A beading loom setup to weave seed bead accessories like necklaces, bracelets, anklets, earrings and small pouches.

This S$19.90 kit comes with a pretty pink loom that even has tension setting, seed beads, findings, wire and needles. The instructions are pretty basic and you don't really need it, most beading looms come without instructions anyway.

To set it up, you wind the wire/thread round the entire loom through those tiny little grooves, secure the ends with a dead knot. This is where tension setting comes in handy as you can dial up the tension to make the lines taut again.

Thread a needle with another piece of wire, tying one end of it to the loom. This connects the 2 pieces and you are now ready to weave seed beads into any pattern you desire.

I made my bracelets in classic friendship band style. You know, chevron stripes, diamonds, basket weave and monogrammed.
