Pizza Flavoured Snack

For the most pizzalicious snack, look no further than Combos. This family of cheese, jalapeno and tomato based snacks do not intentionally try to replicate pizzas but are the closest in terms of flavour. Grab the salsa one for a taste, it's like instant pizza out of a packet. Ready to be consumed anytime, anywhere.

Wally Hermes Yacht WHY

Collaboration between Wally Yachts and Hermes, this revolutionary floating island concept yacht is loaded with cutting-edge eco-friendly technology like solar panels. What it offers is 0.5 acre of space within it to fulfill the needs of its occupants and unprecedented stability in the ocean. Once anchored, the space of water behind it is completely still and transforms into an olympic size swimming pool.

Onboard there is a heated pool, dining room, living room, music room, cinema, reading room, family room, spa with sauna and hammon, gym, 6 guest rooms with en-suite bathrooms some with lounge areas and 2 master bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, walk-in wardrobes and it's own private deck. Not forgetting garage, laundry room, storage, galley and staff quarters for 20 people. No country style kitchen with breakfast nook for guests? Or outdoor dining table?

The WHY was conceptualized in 2008 and made its debut in 2010. Just as it went into built recently, Hermes announced its exit so the engineers can go to work without design considerations. The 58x38 yacht is roughly priced at S$200 million and there is a smaller 37x24 version available. At this price, it comes with a fully outfitted garage: 1 sailboat, 1 motorboat, 2 rescue boats, 4 dinghies, 5 jet skis, 6 canoes.

My favourite part about this yacht is its openess but that openess might pose a security issue. And how do guests climb up and down from the ocean?

My Recommendations for Improvements:

(1) It would be perfect if the first floor deck could extend out a partially submerged platform when anchored in deeper waters, guests can lounge in a couple inches of water without making it to the beach.
(2) When the yacht is in motion, there needs to be handrails around the pool or even a bigger pool to swim around in.
(3) Imagine if all the black outer casing are actually windows! You can see the ocean anywhere onboard!
(4) The spa needs a Salon for hair styling, wash, wet shaves and even a manicure/pedicure station.

Armani Fine Jewellery

A true-blue designer, Giogio Armani the eponymous force behind Emporio Armani and Armani Prive has designed fashion, hotels and now fine jewellery. In a departure from his usual modern monochromatic style, he has chosen inspiration from the vibrant colours of traditional Japanese silk obis and sashes to create a bespoke collection for Armani Prive, price upon request.

Perhaps we are more familiar with Armani Women's Silver and Men's Stainless Steel jewellery collections that comes out every season with the clothes.

Bulgari Mon Jasmin Noir L'Eau Exquise Perfume

My first free perfume sample! Soo excited even though its just 10ml of Mon Jasmin Noir L'Eau Exquise, a special 2012 edition that is fresh, airy and light with topnotes of pomelo and almonds.

First impression is how fresh it smells like white tea, with an intense sweetness from concentrated jasmine flowers. There is no lingering air of alcohol like most perfume sprays, where you have to wait a while for the air to clear before sniffing the perfume.

After it settles, the sweetness stays on the skin and the white musk base comes through, making it kind of alluring. An alternative to wearing jasmine buds in your hair.

Cozycot Fukubukuro

Made a trip to the CosyCot Office or should I say Store, to collect my National Day Fukubukuro. It costs $47 and is supposed to contain $500 worth of stuff.

This is what's in it:

(1) 7 bottles of Kinohimitsu Choless drink, $23.30
(2) 1 bottle of Brands InnerShine drink, $2.05
(3) Shiseido White Lucent Concentrated Brightening Serum, $155
(4) Givenchy Lady Pulp Lip Lacquer in Ruby, $38.50
(5) Kose Sekkisei Supreme Powder Foundation refill, $60
(6) SkinFood Tomato Whitening Cream, $52
(7) Korean brand Palgantong Correcting Base with SPF25, $22.50
(8) Japanese brand Sexy Girl SPF30 sunscreen, $29.90
(9) Stack of food, spa, gym & jewellery vouchers, $700 value

Total $383.25 worth of beauty products and $700 in vouchers. Not too shabby :)

Most of the vouchers are for expensive treatments so the voucher value is negligible, what a shame. I passed the stack onto my mom who is in need of such pampering and love.

The star product of the batch has to be the Shiseido brightening serum valued at $155! I was looking for a new radiance cream and now I have found it. I can add the Givenchy lip gloss and Kose foundation powder to my makeup collection. I don't have a sunscreen (surprise, my foundations all have SPF so I don't own sunscreen) so this Sexygirl one comes in handy. The Korean correcting base in yellow is also my only one as I usually stock green coloured correcting base. I take health drinks regularly so these 8 bottles will last me a while. Only thing I can't find a use for is Skinfood Tomato Whitening Cream, that I will most probably be re-gifting to my friend who loves tomatoes.

My favourite Potato Chips

My all time favourite and also Singapore's best selling variety is Frito-Lays Ruffles! I reach for this crinkle cut potato chips in just about any flavour it comes in. Zero trans fat so it's healthy too. $4 a packet.

For a change, I really like Red Rock Deli's Honey Soy Chicken, it tastes like honey soy chicken! Good stuff, $5.90.

For road trips, grab a cup of Jagabee freeze dried potato chips that are extra crispy and taste like McDonald's french fries, $2.

Dad's New Car

My dad came home one day with his new car. I guess this is the kinda thing that doesn't involve the whole family. It's silver, it's a Toyota and it's a 4-door sedan. How much simpler does it get. Cars like computers have a shelf life of about 7 or 8 years before you have to re-register it and file new documents etc so most people like my dad just sell it to a 2nd-hand dealer and get a new one.

Moisture Intensifiers

Just when you were wondering how to amp up the moisture to your skin, there are these products to help boost your skin's capacity to hold moisture by up to 200%! Dab some of these moisture intensifiers on your skin before applying moisturizer and you can immediately feel the difference. Great for people who don't really look after their skin and are looking for a quick fix. Also good if you want to prolong the use of your good moisturizer.

I really like Borghese Cura Forte that is pretty remarkable, you can use less moisturizer to achieve the same effect or use the same amount to find your skin plumped out, smooth and dewy. I have also tried the Clarins version called HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase that comes bundled with the mask and moisturizer. The moisture prep effect is less pronounced but you can use it on its own as a light moisturizer. When used together with other HydraQuench products, you get an intense moisture burst unlike anything you have used before.

Paul Boulangerie

I first tried Paul Boulangerie at Dubai Airport. The freshly baked pastries and nicely brewed coffees made for a comforting in-transit meal. Prices of $6.50 for a pastry are to be expected in an international airport.

So I was excited to try the branch at Ngee Ann City, Singapore. To be fair, the pastries and desserts are still delicious using classic French recipes and the crepes are above decent. However, the breads and all day breakfast meals leave much to be desired. Prices start at $16.90 for a croque monsieur, so I expected much better.

My advice is to skip the meals and just have the desserts here.

Freebies @ Wisma Atria

Etude House held the grand opening of its Wisma Atria flagship store on National Day. Loads of freebies given out including SHINee CDs. I scored this free Aloe Moistfull Facial Mask voucher online, that I collected today.

Then, I hopped over to GNC to try their new LAC zhi health drink, TCM formula of cordyceps & lingzhi to revitalize and refresh you. It's supposed to taste like peach but comes across as a really sweet drink with herbal undertones. A lot more pleasant to drink than pure chinese herbal concoctions but might be too sweet for the older folks. Nice people at GNC renewed my VIP membership card as well.

Finally, to Clarins for my skin consultation and more samples for Lipo-Drainage and the Multi-Active series of moisturizers. Expect a review later as I have always been a fan of Clarins lypo-drainage body cream. I am currently using Clarins HydraQuench that is purely hydration, the Multi-Active range is supposed to take that one step further into early prevention of aging.

Bugatti Veyron Hermes

I know this is quite old but I had to do a post on this supercar - 2008 Bugatti Veyron decked out in Hermes customizations. Obviously targeted at the moneyed crowd, this baby costs $4.5 million without taxes etc. To be fair, it really costs $3 million, the additional $1.5 million is if you want to cover it in Hermes.

This marvel of an engineering contains an 8 litre engine that will bring you 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. Technicalities aside, as a consumer all we need to know is that it handles exceptionally well and boasts impressive brakes for perfect control over this machine.

At these prices, you can pick the colour. Soo worth it if your initials are "H" as well.

Dolce & Gabbana Fine Jewellery

D&G's 2011 fine jewellery collection has a definitive style, sweet and romantic. Drawing inspiration from pretty vintage design that all girls love and will wear daily. Featuring classic motifs of flowers, hearts and crosses.

For the typical catholic girl that grew up wearing only religious jewellery, there are crosses and rosaries worked into the collection. All karated gold is kept matte to remain discreet.

Prices start from $3,000.

Eisenberg Review - Remodelling Masque

I bought the entire range of Jose Eisenberg skincare to review from scrubs to higher-end masks and the above average results was reflected in the above average prices. One product did stand out and that was the remodelling mask that I gave my mom on Christmas as well, $250. It completely transformed her skin into soft suppleness that had her totally amazed. I don't think a beauty product was able to do that in a while. The effect lasts a couple of months, a lot longer than the days stated on the packaging.
I checked the website and realize the company has changed it's name to Eisenberg Paris and repackaged the product lines so it will look a little different now. Also introducing a new premium range called Excellence. Hhmm, want to try but my budget might not be able to make it.

Szu's Birthday

Celebrated my sister's birthday yesterday with peranakan food, a standard fare whenever National Day comes round.

Adorable little Sophia playing with her mommy's presents, that necklace looks just right on her.
