Tau Sa Piah 豆沙饼

Traditional chinese confection that translates directly as bean paste biscuit. It's bean paste wrapped in a flaky pastry and comes in either sweet or salty flavours, best eaten warm and fresh out of the oven.

I grew up on Loong Fatt 豆沙饼. I am told the delicious flavour is attributed to lard, hence, not advisable to eat too many pieces in one sitting. Located in a really old corner coffeeshop along Balestier road that only has a drink stall apart from the confectionary. Best to head there early in the morning as its usually sold out by noon.
